I have just returned! Re-live with me a journey of old and a journey of new. I love Paris as my second home, but this year I got to fulfill a bucket list item by attending the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics! I’ll take you through my journey (the good and bad) and give you a little taste of what the experience was like. I promise an authentic course, filled with shaky videos, blurry photos, and surprising moments! We will start from “How did you get tickets?” and end with the flight back to the US. Just maybe, this course will inspire you to take your own Olympic journey to Milan in 2026 for the Winter Games or to Los Angeles in 2028 for the Summer Games!

Winter Park is regaled for the small-town, village-like charm of Park Avenue and Hannibal Square. These pedestrian-friendly business districts date back to our community’s inception in the 1800s. Mixed-use retail/residential development with ample greenspace and nearby public transportation is the very essence of what makes Winter Park accessible and welcoming to residents and visitors alike.
The look, feel and charm of Park Avenue or Hannibal Square cannot be recreated in other areas of Winter Park today. Why? In this course, we’ll explore how land-use decisions from 1970 to today shape the way our community works and doesn’t work.
Join us for an eye-opening exploration of how a fresh perspective on land use could help Winter Park become the very best version of itself for you, your children, and your grandchildren.

The French Revolution, the explosion of Enlightenment thought as a reaction to the normative civic structure that happened in France starting in 1787, created the most impactful series of events to shape our understanding of "modernity." The French Revolution could never find its footing as various forces fought for their own definition of what would be a "better society" that would model their motto of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité. We will examine how each new phase or new explosive event created yet another new constitution or new governing structure, ultimately bowing to the pressures for change, from extremely radical to extremely totalitarian.

As a self-diagnosed Francophile, I have spent a cumulative 3 or 4 years in Paris and return 2-3 times every year. So why do I do it?! We will scratch the surface of the city’s history, layout, and distinct neighborhoods. Most importantly, we will study the thing that makes Paris so amazing, the elusive and misunderstood, Parisian. French culture is well studied, but make no mistake about it, one is Parisian before they are French. This interactive course will be filled with stories, experiences, and developments that have occurred over my last 20 years of Paris travel. Please join and share your experiences and let’s put Paris under a microscope as we dive into her most interesting lifestyle. Do not hesitate to journey with us even if you have never been to Paris, were there once 30 years ago for 1 day, or if you love it just as much as I do, since everyone is welcome in Paris.
